Alignment and Scaffolding Systems

The alignment system provides wall alignment before and after the pour, along with a scaffolding system. The scaffolding provides walkways to install block and a place to pour from.

Set up the alignment and scaffolding system after the wall is 4-6 feet high.

Factors requiring set up prior to reaching 4 to 6 feet include, but are not limited to:

  • high or gusty winds
  • storms
  • exposure
  • site layout

Installation and work is commonly from the inside of the structure, however the outside is also an option.

1. Determine placement; inside or outside

2. Calculate placement along wall using the following guidelines:

  • Come out 3’ to 4’ from inside of corners
  • Calculate 1 brace every 5’ to 6’ linear feet or to OSHA requirements

3. When you get to a window or a door:

  • Place alignment on either side 8” to 10” from the bucks
  • With larger windows or doors (i.e. – garage doors) you may need to calculate alignment in between the bucks
  • On short walls, bay windows or close corners; alignment in the middle of the wall is normal
