T-Walls

T-walls are used when one wall connects to a second wall somewhere in between the corners. T-walls can be placed anywhere in a wall. T-wall intersections are simple and fast when using this method:

Cut a section equal to the core size out of the intersected wall where the intersecting wall runs in to it. (This allows concrete to flow uninterrupted thru the joint.) Butt the intersecting block to the other wall the entire height. You can use a small amount of glue, foam or zip tie to temporarily hold in place. Brace the top of the T as shown above. Support the corner where the T intersection leg begins and foam the two 90° inside corners. Also, the top of the T in a T-wall needs to be braced prior to pouring.

TIP: By checking plumb to the cut lines, you will be able to look at the intersecting areas and tell if your wall telescopes in, out, or has remained true.
